6″ x 6″ Insert Surfacing Head — 6-Wing, Straight Bore

The IN663 combines a 6 in. diameter, a 6 in. cutting length, and six wings for smooth, high-feed surfacing of wide solid stock on large production moulders and planers. The large diameter keeps a steady finish under heavy feed, while the aircraft-aluminum body reduces weight, noise, and horsepower draw. Six wings carry four-sided solid carbide inserts in a staggered spiral pattern that shears cleanly across the full width for a line-free finish, with 30 effective cutting teeth; the extra edges over the four-wing IN660 let each tooth take a lighter bite, favoring finish and feed over raw removal. Inserts index to fresh edges or replace on or off the machine — no grinding, no knives sent out. A constant cutting diameter keeps setup minimal as inserts rotate. Specify bore size when ordering; also offered with a hydro-lock bore as IN663H.
