Grinding Wheels

Profile-grinder wheels formulated and tested in our own grinding department: vitrified aluminum oxide blended specifically for Schmidt XLW HP, M2, M3, and T1 knife steels, vitrified ceramic aluminum oxide for longer wheel life and better finish, diamond for carbide profile and straight knives, and Borazon (CBN) for high-speed steels and S-alloy.

Sizes fit Weinig, Wadkin, Foley, Utma, Diehl, and Oliver machines, with an aluminum bushing to run 60mm-bore wheels on 1-1/4" arbors; standard vitrified sizes come ten to a box. The three-wheel SCHure-Lock set — GW100 for the steel backing, GW321 to rough the carbide, GW322 to finish it — grinds SCHure-Lock, Bak-Pak, and Double Back systems on Weinig knife grinders. The same formulations hold up in hogging and finish grinding alike.
