The bit bores the round core while the surrounding HMC500C hollow chisel simultaneously squares the corners and cheeks of the mortise in a single plunge. Use HMC500B as a replacement bit for an existing setup; order HMC500S for the complete chisel and bit set. Confirm machine compatibility — the bit must fit correctly in the collet with the proper clearance between the bit and chisel for clean cutting.
