The Schmidt TE07814 is a BT40 90° pull stud (also called a retention knob) for BT40 taper tool holders. Pull studs thread into the top of the tool holder and interface with the automatic tool changer (ATC) pull mechanism in the machine spindle. The 90° angle is the stud flange contact angle — must match the machine’s ATC pull stud specification exactly. Using the wrong angle pull stud will prevent the ATC from properly gripping or releasing the tool holder. Verify the machine spindle pull stud specification against the machine documentation before ordering — BT retention knobs are supplied in 45°, 60° and 90° flange angles and they are not interchangeable. Replace pull studs at the first sign of thread wear, deformation, or ATC engagement issues.
