ER16 Precision Collet — 5/16″

The Schmidt TE04216516 is a precision ER16 collet for 5/16-inch shank router bits and CNC tooling. ER-style collets clamp tool shanks through radial compression as the collet nut draws the collet into the taper bore of the tool holder. Each collet accepts a small range of shank diameters — not just the nominal listed size — with the spring-steel collet wall flexing to grip shanks within the collet’s acceptance range. Accepts shanks in the range .273 – .312″. This ER16 collet fits the ER16 collet chuck. ER16 is a small-to-medium ER series size used in compact CNC and benchtop router spindles; CGG stocks ER16 collets from 1/16″ through 13/32″. Precision-ground to close runout tolerances for accurate, repeatable tool clamping. Replace collets that show wear, deformation, or loss of spring tension; a worn collet increases tool runout and reduces surface quality and tool life.
