Cuts a flat-bottomed 3/4″ groove — sized to house nominal 3/4″ stock in a single pass, which makes it the common choice for shelf housings and partition joints — and does two more jobs besides: run it against the fence to cut a rabbet, or fit a 2-15/16″ diameter rub bearing and it becomes a flush trim cutter following a template or a previously worked edge. The straight top grind leaves a square groove with clean corners — nothing is rounded, coved or ogee’d. Freeborn indexes the series by groove width and the trailing SKU number is that width in sixteenths, so 012 is 3/4″, 016 is 1″ and 032 is 2″. Mini-Pro body: 3/4″ bore, 2-15/16″ diameter, three wings, counterclockwise, carbide tipped. The Pro-Line counterpart is PC-22-012 on a 1-1/4″ bore at 4″.
