This 30mm carbide insert is the replaceable cutting edge for Schmidt ship-lap, nickel-gap, and V-panel insert bodies, cutting the tongue side of the cladding joint. Seated in the ID-series insert body, it is indexed or swapped when dull instead of sending a solid cutter out for regrind, so a siding or paneling run stays productive. Pair the tongue insert with the opposing groove insert and the matching insert bodies to mill both halves of the joint. Confirm body size and joint profile before ordering.
