The 5 1/2″ Schmidt insert body cuts ship-lap, nickel-gap, and V-panel cladding joints from replaceable carbide inserts rather than a solid profiled cutter. Mounted on a 40mm bore spindle, it runs the groove half of the joint — pair it with the opposing tongue body to mill both halves of a matched cladding set. Worn inserts are rotated or replaced at the body, keeping a paneling or siding run moving without cutter regrinds. Inserts are ordered separately (30mm ship-lap/nickel-gap/V-panel inserts). Confirm spindle bore and joint profile before ordering.
