Bar-length thin knives put a factory straight edge in your planer or jointer without waiting on a listed set: pick the width and thickness your cutterhead runs, choose HP HSS or carbide-tipped steel, and cut the bar to knife length in-shop — one bar typically yields a full knife set with stock left for the next change. If your machine’s set is already listed in the Thin Knife Sets category, that’s the same steel pre-cut to size; these bars cover every machine that isn’t.

Stocked in 25″, 31″, and 37″ lengths, widths from 5/8″ to 2″, in 1/8″ and 5/32″ thicknesses. HP HSS is the everyday choice — tough, easy to hone, resharpens on standard equipment. Carbide-tipped bars equip a straight-knife planer with carbide edge life for abrasive and man-made stock; grind with diamond wheels.
