4″ x 5″ Insert Surfacing Head — 6-Wing, Straight Bore

The IN651 extends the compact 4 in. surfacing head to a 5 in. cutting length, so it dresses wider faces in one pass on moulders and planers running a smaller-diameter spindle. Its aircraft-aluminum body keeps weight, noise, and horsepower draw down, while six wings hold four-sided solid carbide inserts in a staggered spiral layout that slices the fibers for a clean, often line-free surface; effective cutting teeth number 30. Each insert rotates to a new edge or swaps out right on the machine, eliminating grinding and knife regrinds. The diameter does not change as inserts are indexed, so re-setup stays fast between runs, and the low cutting pressure of the shear geometry supports higher feed rates.
