6″ x 12″ Insert Surfacing Head — 6-Wing, Hydro-Lock Bore

The IN665H is the hydro-lock version of the widest surfacing head in the range — a 6 in. diameter with a 12 in. cutting length for facing full-width panels in a single pass on large production moulders and planers. On a head this wide, mount precision is everything, and the hydraulic hydro-lock bore clamps evenly around the spindle to hold very low runout while still allowing fast, repeatable mounting and removal. The aircraft-aluminum body is what makes a 12 in. head practical, keeping weight, noise, and horsepower draw in check. Six wings hold four-sided solid carbide inserts staggered in a spiral across the entire length, shearing the grain for a line-free surface with 75 effective cutting teeth; the dense spacing keeps each insert’s bite light so finish holds across the full cut at production feed. Inserts index to fresh edges or replace on or off the machine with no grinding. Specify bore size when ordering.
