Cuts the bottom half of a door edge detail for the 32mm hinge system, nesting under any of Freeborn’s top cutters — the range is built so any top runs with any bottom, which means you pick the top for the look and the bottom for the hardware. Its 0.100″ inset is the reason it is cleared for 32mm work: a European cup hinge needs a 35mm hole bored only 3–6mm in from the raw edge, and a shallow inset stays clear of that pocket. The deeper 0.200″ profiles — 181 and 183 — cut far enough into the bottom corner to breach the cup hole wall, which is why Freeborn restricts them to non-32mm work. Among the three cleared bottoms (182, 184, 185), pick by the exact distance of your bored hinge hole from the edge, checked against the profile drawing. Built to the same specification as every top cutter: 15° shear for clean cuts with and across the grain, counterclockwise with the wood fed face up.
