Cuts a flat-bottomed 3/8″ groove for panel work, drawer bottoms and back panels, and does two more jobs besides: run it against the fence to cut a rabbet, or fit a 4″ diameter rub bearing and it becomes a flush trim cutter following a template or a previously worked edge. The straight top grind leaves a square groove with clean corners — nothing is rounded, coved or ogee’d. Freeborn indexes the series by groove width and the trailing SKU number is that width in sixteenths, so 006 is 3/8″, 008 is 1/2″ and 032 is 2″. Stack two groovers with shims between to cut a wider groove than any single cutter offers. Pro-Line body: 1-1/4″ bore, 4″ diameter, three wings, counterclockwise, carbide tipped. The Mini-Pro counterpart is MC-62-006 on a 3/4″ bore at 2-15/16″.
