Schmidt Multiprofile Backer Plate — 80mm (3/8″ Corrugated-Back Steel)

The IBK80 is an 80mm-wide, 3/8 in. thick corrugated-back steel backer plate for the Schmidt multiprofile system — the widest in the range. The backer carries a replaceable carbide profile insert and seats into a Schmidt multiprofile head (IM3-series); its 3/8 in. thickness supports the insert solidly through the cut, which markedly reduces insert breakage versus thinner backing. The corrugated back locks into the head’s serrations for precise, repeatable positioning as profiles are changed. At 80mm it matches the 80mm head width and the 80mm profile-insert sets, covering full-height mouldings. Building a library of backer-and-insert sets lets one head run many stile-and-rail and moulding profiles instead of a dedicated cutter per pattern.
