Straight Planing Knife — Corrugated Back, Carbide & S-Alloy Tipped

Straight planing knives on 5/16″-thick corrugated-back bars: the 60° corrugations lock into the head while a brazed cutting inlay does the work, so you get carbide-class edge life in a standard corrugated-back head with no profile grinding required. The inlay depth scales with the knife width — 1/2″ inlay on the 1-1/4″ and 1-1/2″ widths, 3/4″ on the 1-3/4″, 1″ on the 2″, and 1-3/8″ on the 2-1/2″ width — so wider knives carry proportionally more grindable tip.

Choose carbide tips for maximum wear life in abrasive and man-made stock, or S-alloy where a tougher edge handles knots and interrupted cuts with less chipping. Stocked in cut lengths of 2″, 4″, 6″, 7″, 9″, and 9.44″ (240mm) plus full 25″ bars for cutting sets in-shop.
