The IR401 is the opposite-rotation version of the IR400 single-flute V-groove and 45-degree chamfer router bit — 50mm outer diameter with a 3/4-inch shank, for spindles running the reverse direction or paired left/right operations on twin-spindle machines. The V-groove and chamfer geometry produces a clean angled cut for decorative panel V-grooves, chamfered edges, and architectural detail work. Single-flute configuration prioritizes chip clearance, suiting softer materials and controlled feed rates. Designed for use with the opposite-rotation insert IRC4012L — the insert carries the cutting edge, so edge renewal is an insert change rather than a regrind.
