The IN659H is the hydro-lock version of the 6 in. four-wing surfacing head with a 4 in. cutting length for large production moulders and planers. The hydraulic hydro-lock bore clamps the head to the spindle with even pressure around the full circumference, which centers it to very low runout and lets an operator mount or change the head quickly and repeatably — a real advantage on heavy heads that are otherwise slow to seat. As with the straight-bore IN659, the aircraft-aluminum body keeps weight, noise, and horsepower draw down, and four wings carry four-sided solid carbide inserts in a staggered spiral pattern that shears the grain for a clean face, with 16 effective cutting teeth. Inserts index to fresh edges or replace on or off the machine — no grinding. The lower runout of the hydro-lock mount helps hold a consistent finish at production feed.
