6″ x 4″ Insert Surfacing Head — 6-Wing, Straight Bore

The IN662 is the six-wing 6 in. surfacing head with a 4 in. cutting length, adding cutting edges for a finer finish and higher feed on large production moulders and planers. The 6 in. diameter holds its finish under load, and the aircraft-aluminum body keeps weight, noise, and horsepower demand down. Six wings carry four-sided solid carbide inserts in a staggered spiral pattern that shears the grain for a line-free face, with 24 effective cutting teeth; the added edges over the four-wing IN659 let each insert take a lighter bite, favoring surface quality and feed rate. Inserts rotate to a fresh edge or replace on the machine, with no grinding required. The constant cutting diameter keeps setup minimal as inserts index. Specify bore size when ordering; also offered with a hydro-lock bore as IN662H.
