Tersa M+ Reversible Planer Blade — Double-Edged, 50mm to 810mm

Closed-cell hardwood is what ends a standard high speed steel edge before the run does. M+ answers that with 8% cobalt and a custom cutting angle, which Tersa credits for its better resistance to wear — the trade being a fractionally less keen initial edge for materially longer service in maple, ash, birch and hornbeam. It sits between HSS and carbide on both cost and life, which makes it the working grade for shops on mixed stock or hardwood batches that cannot justify a full carbide set. The Tersa head holds the blade by centrifugal force under load and releases it at rest, so changeovers take minutes and need no tools, jointing or regrinding. Reversible, so each blade carries two full cutting edges. Ground in Switzerland, cut to length from 50mm to 810mm. Previously listed as M42. Where stock is abrasive or glue-lined, carbide is the next step.
